Certain Sparks™
We're Recording!

Certain Sparks began as a small, hobby, recording studio to provide recording and rehearsal opportunities for Sena’s own music, but quickly became a self-sustaining hobby when he began offering his service to local bands in order to gain more hands on experience. Sena made Certain Sparks commercially available to the public in March of 2006. Shortly after acquiring his business license, Sena created, ‘Our Festival,’ a concert for local youth. Certain Sparks was able to donate a portion of the profits from ‘Our Festival’, to a Chamber of Commerce maintained fund, created to purchase much-needed instruments for the Lompoc Unified School District Music Departments.

‘Our Festival’ raffles were supported by local business sponsorship. With organizations including, the Lompoc Chamber of Commerce and Lompoc Police Department’s DARE Program on board to ensure a successful event. Online promotion and word of mouth led to good turnout and an exciting and fulfilling charitable event for all involved. Moreover, ‘Our Festival’ generated a nice buzz for Certain Sparks in the local music scene.

Sena spent 2006 and the early part of 2007 honing his recording skills, and in May of 2007 Certain Sparks moved operations into a larger facility within the same property. Expansion included the addition of an isolation or vocal booth and allowed more room for the set up of live band tracking.

In November of 2007, Saul Nungary of Santa Barbara based, KD Records, approached Sena with the opportunity to purchase the KD Records recording facility, which was located in the same commercial facility as Certain Sparks. Not previously open to the public, the facility was stocked with the industry standard PRO-TOOLS recording program, and hardware and software that was superior in quality to the equipment then available at the existing Certain Sparks facility.

Sena sought the consultation of long time associate, Brandon Bridge, and a business partnership was formed. The partners made the joint decision to purchase the former KD Records facility and create the studio as it exists today.

Although the studio has evolved  and grown over time, the mission of Certain Sparks has always remained the same: to provide our clients with the best quality production available at the most affordable price.
